Heal Yourself To Heal the World
Even the most basic knowledge of human history and fleeting attention to current events is enough for us to understand that human beings are capable of the most horrendous acts of cruelty. When you consider all the atrocities that have occurred and continue to be perpetrated in the world it is easy to feel overwhelmed with sadness and despair. It's easy to feel that the evolution of humankind to a higher state of consciousness is just a pipe dream with no chance of becoming a reality. Letting Go of Ego
To find true peace, joy and contentment we must learn to be without ego. Ego is a facet of personality and is entirely related to our physical life. Largely ego is concerned with materialistic measures and comparison; it measures our success by the things we have and what we know or do relative to others. As we become more self-aware and adopt a more heart-based life our ego naturally starts to take a bit of a back seat. It’s very difficult to eliminate it completely, but you can save yourself a lot of unnecessary distress by learning to recognise when ego rather than your true self is driving the way you are feeling about something, and distancing yourself from that reaction. ...read more.
